Have yall quit the podcasts entirely? ...
No, we’re just in the thick of filming a ton of stuff internally trying to get to the next round of interviews.
Hey tell Nick to please do a Asian geeen podcast! I tried to get Diego Footer to contact him about doing one but he might have been to busy.... Thanks@BootstrapFarmer
Perfect video
Did you put the gears in the correct spots? I thought the front was the other side? I'm only asking for clarity maybe i'm doing it wrong. thanks.
We did, the camera angle shows the sprockets going in with the front being the right side on the video.
@@BootstrapFarmer Thanks for responding. She mentions the 9 should be in the rear and 14 in the front. but it appears that the front (right side on the video) has the 9 gear. and the left side (back) has the 14 gear. Just wanted to share. I appreciate confirming the front side is right. =)
What is the kit# for the 30' overhead?
Here is where you can input your hoop house size: www.bootstrapfarmer.com/products/overhead-irrigation-kit?_pos=1&_sid=42bc9e3fe&_ss=r&variant=42278484672670
How about some research data like temp values at ground level under black vs white?
There’s a second follow up video coming out soon where we took light meter test at the ground with plants.
Does it manage to get every seed out of the hopper? Or are there a few seeds that stay stuck along the edges?
I’ve never had much of a jam with a Jang. Basically what you do is fill the hopper with more seed than you would need, and then the hopper easily comes off to put the seeds back in the original container .
Thank you!
You're welcome!
What would I need for a 30x72 with 6' side walls. Mostly vegetables will be grown. I live in central Louisiana
50% for sure. More veggies over flowers maybe consider black. Like I said in the video it’s much nicer working under black if we are splitting hairs.
@@BootstrapFarmer ok, so what is the temp diff between black and white?
How many fans would I need in a 30 x 96 high tunnel with roll up sides, louvers at both sides and 8 x 8 doors on both end walls? This video was super helpful! Thank you :)
Circulation fans: You could get by with 2 Placed directly in the middle with one fan blowing one way, and the other fan blowing the other way to create circular movement, but you would be better served with Four placed at 25% and 75% of the hoop house still facing opposite ways .
Wonderful info... much needed. Blessings ❤
Always glad to hear from you. Stall cool best you can. 💚 N-
I wasn't ready for 9:12
Looking pretty good🤠
Thanks Nick, not sure why, I'm not getting notices again... however just gonna search and find y'all! As always great info and video... blessings ❤
Slightly above😂😂
Close enough I guess
?
That painter pole intro shot was tight!
Whyd that lady throw stuff at me? What'd I do
Surface tension? I had no clue that things other than liquids have surface tension
We were putting tension on a surface so it seemed like a good way to say it. 💁🏽♂️
Mind making a video on recycling said plastic at end of life? That as always for your vids
Working that one into the schedule. Thanks!
I'm in central Kansas. So the white should work as we get to 110 115 degree days. But as I understand the 6 mill blocks the lite down to 78 percent so with 30 percent shade cloth over that sun lite is down to 48 percent. Can I give you a call and get some advice, definitely shoping at you're business. .
Of course, Call 888-406-1982 and press extension 1 to talk to our tech team. Thanks!
ok dude that's really cool, but man... is this possible if I travel frequently and am not home for 4-5 days at a time? I'm trying this year. So far ok'ish with 2" as the smallest size block. My tomatoes in seed trays got root rot this year. lost 50%
I'm afraid you might find that the blocks will dry out after a few days. But that would be the case with almost any seed starting set up.
dude that's a huge soil block... is that like a 6" soil block?
The Hand-held Maxi 1 creates just one tall block, measuring 4" x 4" x 4" - a substantial size for larger seedlings while also providing maximum aeration. It is perfect for up-potting vine crops early in the season, from smaller soil blocks to planting larger tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers after the last frost dates.
does this also work in europe, we have quite high water pressure here
Everything would work assuming your pressure washer source has metric to imperial fittings but our tech team could also help with that.
Hi question is do you put the measurements mark on the far side of the collars edge or the inside of the collars edge?
Inside collar.
You mentioned that the black shade cloth had a heating effect. I have found that totally opposite. I am in 7b, rapidly transitioning to 8a, and when I spread my shade cloth on my hoop house, the temperature drops by 15 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit
You're right, you should see a drop in temps when applying shade cloth. All shade cloth blocks light, which results in a temp drop compared to outside. But when you're comparing black shade cloth to white shade cloth, black shade cloth will keep the temps higher than the white shade cloth inside the tunnel because the black coloring absorbs more heat. We're going to be putting out a video that covers this question more in-depth so stay tuned for that!
How do you contact your company to purchase a pipe bender
You can call 888-406-1982 email contact@bootstrapfarmer.com or visit www.bootstrapfarmer.com
😝 was looking for a kitty cat tunnel 😂.
From What I read in "Hydroponic Food Production," by Howard M.Resh, the roots should not be exposed to air any longer than twenty minutes. This style of technique is supposed to create a healthier root system due to the plant needing to retain more nutrients within a limited time window. If the plants are not re-introduced to the nutrient water within the time window then the plant will die.
That is certainly the case in DWC or NFT, however the system you see here is primarily for microgreens and propagation in which if flooded 24/7 would lead to dampening off in microgreens or over saturation in newly sprouted seed starts.
My only complaint about bootstrap is that Nick hasn't done a podcast covering Asian greens yet! 😂
Thank y'all... great info... some readon BSF no longer shows up on my feeds nor do I get notification of y'all's videos... just happened to do a looksee on the channel... Blessings ❤
Love, love love all my Bootstrap tools. Sitting at my front door right now waiting for the UPS man to bring my new 4' Bender 🙂 I like that you use UPS because they give you a 2 hour delivery window and the option to pick up at one of their local stores.

We are so confused! Ours measures 30x60 no matter how we measure, but diagonal is off 4ish inches on one way and 2ish inches the other way. We can not find a video who shows us how to adjust when the diagonals are off.

By putting over the 1/2” rebar pins.
Looks amazing
Thanks.
You're welcome
You have to wonder when all this price raising coupled with increasing costs across the board along with inflation is going to cripple the local farm and farmer.
26 degrees is the magic number. Anything below 26 will start to damage lettuce

Hello I have a greenhouse with vent fan and louver it is sized for my greenhouse and I have roll up sides it still gets around 100 degrees inside when the temps are around 90s and I have a shade cloth on it it’s 40 percent sun block what else can I do because when it teaches the high 90s it will be hot in there thank you for listening
